London
MLA London is the strategic development agency for museums, libraries and archives in London, supporting and promoting the sector and working in partnership to ensure that the unique cultural, knowledge and learning resources are made accessible to Londoners and contribute to London's status as a world class city.
MLA London's role is to:
- provide strategic leadership and advice
- support sector development and capacity-building
- undertake research and policy development for the sector
- act as an influential advocate for the sector
- encourage productive collaboration between museums, libraries and archives and the wider public, private and voluntary sectors
MLA London will remain as it is during 2009/10, while arrangements tailored for the special circumstances of the capital are developed in conjunction with the Mayor of London and other stakeholders.
