The MLA works closely with a range of government agencies and other bodies. Currently we are involved in particularly significant work with Arts Council England, English Heritage and Sport England on regional strategies, and with The National Archives on a new government policy for archives.
The MLA is a key partner in moves to join up the regional work of the four agencies (MLA, ACE, EH and Sport England), so that when it is most effective to do so, government speaks to local government with one voice, for example in the planning of regional strategies for culture and sport.
Our work on development of an archives strategy is being taken forward jointly with The National Archives.
There is also a huge array of other agencies, bodies and organisations working in the cultural sector, and in particular with museums, libraries and archives, who we work closely with.
