A study to establish potential demand for "Library Loans Online"

The MLA recently commissioned a study to explore the supply side implications of offering library users the opportunity to search and reserve stock online and to have the requested item delivered to an address of their choosing.

MLA is now interested in developing a more detailed and fully costed business case which incorporates rigorous user demand research and analysis.

Standard charges for arts and museums infrastructure in association with new development. Phase 1: Benchmarking and evidence

Reference: 166

Due date: 11 September 2008

MLA and Arts Council England wish to undertake a project to develop authoritative standard charges for arts and museums infrastructure in associated guidance for use by planners, developers and otheres involved in the development process.

The overall work to develop and publish standard charge guidance will have two phases.

Phase 1: Production of systematic background evidence, including benchmarking information, to support a robust and defensible standard charge approach; and

Phase 2: Development of appropriate detailed documentation for planners and other relevant audiences to ensure that such standard charges can be successfully used in a range of situations.

This tender covers the work for Phase 1.
