The 15th public library to be refurbished by Nottinghamshire County Council in the past four years has started welcoming visitors.
Warsop library underwent a complete £190,000 re-design, with new décor, a modern café and thousands of pounds worth of new books.
The refurbishment programme looks to be having an effect as book loans are up by an average of 25% in the new-look libraries.
Peter Gaw Nottinghamshire’s head of Libraries, Archives and Information said: “Our approach to developing the county’s libraries is to place a love of reading at the heart of everything we do.
“From the ‘reading café’ events some of our refurbished libraries are hosting, to how book displays are designed to attract readers in the way they would in a bookshop, this is about creating spaces that can form the heart of reading communities.”
