Museums, libraries and archives are best placed to serve communities, they deliver local agendas and maximise local impact in neighbourhoods. MLA supports this through a whole host of initiatives and programmes that provide comprehensive advice and information for everyone and help institutions to develop accessible, inclusive and educational collections and services that have an impact on everyone.

We make external policy responses to relevant consultative and policy documents from government, public bodies and other organisations, investing in knowledge, providing solid research and evidence, overseeing high standards within the sector, examining sources of funding, export and import procedures, and developing an international focus through networking and links overseas. The Partnership also works towards developing a motivated, appropriately skilled, diverse and outward-looking workforce to raise standards and deliver better services for all.
