Delivering to your community Museums, libraries and archives are part of your local communities. they deliver a cultural 'pow' to your neighbourhoods and localities. Local councils play a huge part in helping our cultural communities to work, and MLA works with local government and our museums, libraries and archives sector to be at the heart of our national, regional and local life. We work with national and local policy makers, service providers and local government and a range of national, regional and local stakeholders so that museums, libraries and archives can help implement policies and deliver against key agendas to transform our local cultural heritage. October 2006, Government published a White Paper Strong and Prosperous Communities setting out a vision for delivering local services and how communities can shape those services so that local people get the services they want. We invite your comments on how museums, libraries and archives can contribute to the ambitions of the White Paper, and we have published a discussion paper (PDF 110KB) to inform the debate.
