Learning Learning is at the heart of museums, libraries and archives. "Learning is a process of active engagement with experience. It is what people do when they want to make sense of the world. It may involve the development or deepening of skills, knowledge, understanding, awareness, values, ideas and feelings, or an increase in the capacity to reflect. Effective learning leads to change, development and the desire to learn more." (Adapted from Campaign for Learning). Our action is focused on three stages of learning to which museums, libraries and archives are especially well placed to make a contribution: The website Inspiring Learning for All (opens in a new window) is MLA's strategy for inclusive learning in museums, libraries and archives. It provides: - A framework of best practice
- Tools to measure learning outcomes
- Advocacy materials to promote learning
MLA's learning strategy is based on action to promote learning in museums, libraries and archives through: - Gathering evidence of impact
- Advocacy
- Development of national learning offers
