The MLA Standards Team works on all aspects of sector-wide quality standards.

A clear and comprehensive study of all UK, European and international standards schemes relevant to museums, libraries and archives was produced in 2003.

Museum Designation and Accreditation

• MLA's Museum Accreditation Scheme sets nationally agreed standards for UK museums
• The Designation Scheme identifies and celebrates the pre-eminent collections in England's non-national museums
