MLA manages, funds and leads on a whole range of programmes and strategic initiatives to promote museums, libraries and archives. 

We are involved in a whole range of projects that set standards, agendas, provide practical support and advice, help to implement and develop strategies, identify pre-eminence, encourage learning, accessibility and diversity for all and help to revitalise museums, libraries and archives across the UK and initiate some forward thinking; setting the pace on forthcoming cultural agendas.

These programmes include Accreditation, Action for Archives, Cultural Property, Designation, Digital Initiatives, Framework for the Future, Inspiring Learning for All, Libraries and Disability, People's Network, Portable Antiquities, Renaissance and Setting the Pace.
