Laura describes how difficult it is for a dyslexic person to use the library and has some good ideas for libraries.
Laura:
Probably year 2 that I did notice that I did have a problem. It came up on a 'A.B.C.', saying the alphabet to the rest of the class and if you got it right you were given a trophy and it came to me and I hadn't got a clue how to say the alphabet and it came out all over the place, I only probably got to D. I can remember being called stupid. The library has always been a bit of an awkward place for me. It is embarrassing, something has to be deadlined for me to go. I just see this massive place with a load of books and I don't really see anybody who is willing to help. If you can type in, then computers aren't that much of a problem to you. It would be brilliant if there was a printout and it's not complicated but set out where it is, colour coded perhaps, I feel that colour coded is so much better than words because you can't remember, you have all these words in front of you and you just can't remember all of them so the colours would be brilliant.
