Applying for Designated status

Applications for Designated status are considered by a Panel composed of senior members of the museum, library and archive professions, who meet twice a year (normally in January and July).

Throughout the year Institutions may submit an application at any time; it will be then be assessed and scheduled into the next available Panel meeting.

The dates of the next meetings are 14th July 2008 and 28th January 2009.  The deadline for applications for the July meeting has passed. To ensure sure an application is assessed at the January meeting please submit the papers to MLA by 17th October 2008.

To assist the Panel, assessments are obtained from appropriate experts and from the Regional Agencies.
