Net Gain

In the Net Gain vision user needs are central.

The project began with a seminar on 15 June 2004 to discuss how to integrate hub, designated collection, and other ICT projects under the Renaissance programme. It was organised in the context of the then recent announcement of Designation Challenge Fund projects for 2004-06, and implementation of the recent hub two year plans (2004-06). Through these initiatives 69 projects aimed at better managing and accessing museum collections, knowledge and ideas were funded through Renaissance. The seminar began from the premise that there are many benefits from working in partnership and sought to lay foundations for a common approach; supporting local and regional initiatives within a framework that optimises value for money and impact. The  actions agreed at the seminar are available on this site.
