CANS Advice Notes

CANS Advice Notes is a detailed summary of the laws of England, Wales and Scotland. We take the original sources – Acts of Parliament and Statutory Instruments – and distil them for public consumption into separate topics, each covering a different aspect of the law. We simplify the language and link together the different laws which can apply in each situation, including where possible detail from other sources such as codes of practice or European Directives. We always give references so that the user can go back to the original source if needed. CANS Advice Notes are regularly updated to include new law as it is introduced and this new law is put in context with existing legislation to give the user a complete picture.

We have over 450 different Notes covering 20 main areas of law. A full list of the content of CANS Advice Notes can be seen at www.cans.org.uk
