Advocacy This section of the Framework for the Future website is designed to provide library authority heads of service and senior managers with the information needed to make the case for public libraries most effectively. The information is divided into a number of useful sections: Advocacy in action : how to create and implement an advocacy campaign  Essential topics : briefing notes under 10 headings, linked to central and local Government key agendas such as Communites, Economic Vitality and Health Key issues : challenges facing public library services, for example declining book issues and the poor state of some library buildings Champions : quotes from well-known people to endorse your presentation Advocacy resources : more in-depth reports, booklets and other documents that you may find useful (includes reports on public libraries' role in supporting adult learners, the knowledge economy and community cohesion) There is also a presentation which summarises the key points: Public libraries changing lives (PPT 904KB) Other sources Many case studies, evidence, activities and ambitions tailored to local circumstances, are available from MLA Regional Agencies.
