People's Network Service Steering Group

The People's Network Service Steering Group (PNSSG) provides high level guidance on key areas of policy, strategy and finance, in order to support and improve strategic and operational work, planning and delivery of the People's Network Service.

Membership of the Steering Group is as follows:

  • MLA, the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council
  • Society of Chief Librarians (SCL)
  • Department for Education and Skills (DfES)
  • Society of Information Technology Managers (SOCITM)
  • Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS)
  • Big Lottery Fund
  • Regional Libraries Advisory Group (RLAG)
  • Sheffield University

Steering Group responsibilities

  • To support staff working on the practical development of the People's Network Service by providing strategic guidance
  • To influence and shape the delivery of the People's Network Service for MLA
  • To provide a debate and decision forum for all elements of the People's Network Service
  • To inform the development and implementation of policies and strategies related to the People's Network Service
  • To discuss responses to strategic issues and specific initiatives
  • To provide information on services, initiatives or funding that may help to develop the People's Network Service
