Since 2003, Renaissance London has played a key role in the development of a vibrant, diverse and sustainable museum sector. It has worked towards making the region's museums more relevant and enjoyable for everyone, ensuring that they participate in improving the quality of life for all Londoners.
To achieve this, Renaissance London has built on existing strengths within partner museums in order to develop a concentration of expertise within the sector. This expertise has been disseminated to the regional museum community in order to deliver high quality museum services.
This work was delivered by the London Museums Hub, a partnership between:

In July 2011, the Museum of London took over responsibility for all ex-Hub regional museum support and development programmes in 2011/12. These programmes, which include the Museum Development Officer team, are now managed by a new Regional Programmes Department at the Museum of London.
The new programme is structured around the three main areas of the new accreditation scheme - operational health, collections and users and their experiences - so that museums accessing support can see how it helps prepare them for accreditation.
London Museums Group is also a key partner in consultation, planning, delivery and communicating what the Renaissance programme is to London's museums.
