This national one-day conference is an opportunity to learn about the unique and exciting 'Talk for Writing' approach developed by the National Literacy Trust. This approach has been led by Preston Museums and Schools in Partnership and is now being integrated in a variety of ways in museums and galleries in the North West.

Talk for Writing provides outstanding opportunities for pupils to engage with collections and use a range of speaking, listening and discussion skills to link what they experience to their own writing.

Keynote speaker: Judy Clark, National Literacy Trust

Sharing of practical examples of good practice from representatives of the Preston Museums and Schools in Partnership group, and Neil Dymond-Green, Renaissance North West Literacy Network Co-ordinator.

Up to 20 travel bursaries worth £50 each are available to non-national and non-hub museum and archive staff across the nine regions of England to attend the conference.

For general enquiries about this event - including how to book a place and apply for a travel bursary - contact: Lesley Parkinson at parkmedia@hotmail.com.
