SHARE is creating regional specialist networks to help staff keep in touch with each other, with current developments in their chosen disciplines and to offer targeted support to the rest of the museum community.
Currently networks have been established in:
- Museums archaeology
- Natural history
- Costume and textiles
- Audience development
- Design and display
- Museum learning
The remit of each network has been developed by its members, which include both hub and non-hub staff. SHARE provides administrative support and some funding. It’s still early days for most of the networks, but examples of the kinds of activity they will be focusing on include events, publications, websites and, from 2010, small grants schemes.
