Renaissance East of England manages both the Museums Development Fund and Priorities Challenge Fund. These funding streams are aimed directly at the wider museums community and support museum development and partnership working.
Museums Development Fund
The Museums Development Fund is ring-fenced by MLA to support museum development within the wider museums community. In the East of England this fund is managed in partnership with the region's network of Museum Development Officers. If you would like to know more about what MDF is doing in your part of the region, please contact

or contact your local Museum Development Officer (MDO). Your MDO will also be able to let you know about further funding opportunities in your local area.
Priorities Challenge Fund
The Priorities Challenge Fund is a funding stream that has been developed as part of the Renaissance East of England 2009-11 business plan to extend the Renaissance vision and enable non-hub museums to develop projects and deliver against Renaissance priorities set by MLA. It is a continuation and expansion of the Regional Museum Grants offered by Renaissance East of England in previous years that supported a range of work from developing community consultation through to an under-5s ‘rhyme-time’ club. At present, thirteen museums have been successful in gaining money from the Challenge Fund, many of whom are taking advantage of SHARE to develop new skills needed for their projects. Information on these projects will become available as they develop, but for an intial list of successful bids, click on the article below from the latest edition of Renaissance News. For further information on the Priorities Challenge funding stream, please contact Natasha Hutcheson.
