This programme is being delivered by Greener Museums Ltd.
Survival Strategy for Museums and Galleries
A second strand of Green Museums is the development and testing of a survival strategy. It’s a framework to help museum to make informed decisions on implementations of new technologies and passive methods of environmental control to make our buildings more efficient whilst serving as effective homes to provide long-term preservation of the regions cultural assets.
Big Energy Saving Initiative
Renaissance North West is also supporting four institutions with a Big Energy Saving initiative focusing on specific issues including lighting, building management systems and existing building improvements to increase energy efficiency.
These strands are being delivered by Renaissance North West in partnership with the Collections Care and Green Museums Steering Group and ARUP.
These programmes will have a lasting legacy for the region as Museums and Galleries strive to meet long-term targets to become more environmentally sustainable.
