CultureLink

CultureLink is a joint programme by RNIB and MLA to enable blind and partially sighted people to have greater access to museums and heritage sites and play a greater role in the Cultural Olympiad. The programme will match local volunteers with blind and partially sighted people and provide training in guiding and descriptive skills. A progamme of visits and associated activities will develop new audiences and skills for participating museums and combat exclusion of blind and partially sighted people.

6 museums in the West Midlands are developing the programme linked to the 2010 World Blind Football Championships. Visually impaired participants will create new innovative interpretation and marketing materials to ensure an accessible welcome for home and international visitiors.

CultureLink has been granted the London2012 Inspire Mark
