The Accreditation Committee

The Scheme is overseen by the Accreditation Committee, whose members are senior museum professionals with a spread of knowledge and expertise relating to museums of all types throughout the UK. Half of the Committee membership is appointed through open recruitment, and half is appointed in consultation with the Museums Association, the Association of Independent Museums, CyMAL: Museums Archives Libraries Wales, Museums Galleries Scotland and the Northern Ireland Museums Council.

The current membership of the Committee is:

Members of the Accreditation Committee should not be contacted by museums regarding applications for Accreditation Status, or any activity necessary to meet any specific requirements attached to an award.

    Museums achieving Accredited Status are required to provide evidence of continued attainment through an information return every two years, known as the Biennial Return.
