The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council has been designated a "producer of official statistics" under the Statistics and Registration Services Act 2007 (SRSA) with effect from 1 April 2009.
The SRSA aims to improve public trust and confidence in government statistics.
From 1st October 2011 Arts Council England assumed responsibility for museums & libraries in England. As a result all official statistics relating to museums and libraries including Renaissance, Designation and Accreditation will now be published on www.artscouncil.org.uk.
